Bass, among others, seeks a Design/PD Assistant to join its team based in New York City.




  • Provide reliable and responsible support to Senior Designer
  • Assist in developing and presenting new ideas for silhouette, color, concept boards, prints, and trims
  • Comment on color & lab dips for fabrics/trims each season, from sampling to production
  • Responsible for creating, updating & maintaining linesheets, design charts, seasonal binders and boards
  • Responsible for ordering and tracking samples from factories
  • Review samples for accuracy and advise comments to factories
  • Create and update design tech packs from development through production stage
  • Helping in setting up showroom for meetings each season
  • Day to day up keep of filing and organization 


  • Between 2-5 years of industry experience. Swimwear, Lingerie, or Active sportswear a plus
  • Must be able to draw by hand as well as be very proficient with Excel, Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Must be well versed at cadding. (sketching and filling bodies with solids/ prints)
  • Must be able to put line lists together with Illustrator or InDesign 
  • Must be comfortable with communication with overseas factories 
  • Highly organized and detail oriented 
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Motivated and can thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi task and manage multiple seasons at once
  • Positive and Professional attitude
