Bass, among others, Guess seeks an Assistant Merchandiser to join its team based in New York City!


Development Stages

  • Create initial sketch boards

  - Photocopy design sketches

  - Merchandise boards by delivery and stories

  • Help with PC desks

  - Indicate key items and looks

  • Track show samples

  - Write X-dates on design boards and work with HK team to ensure all samples are on time

  • Establish and maintain seasonal design boards

  - Reference sketch boards

  - Open all tech packs to pull information for boards

  - Update all changes and communicate to team

  • Manage sample ordering
  • Maintain and report Style/sku counts during each stage
  • Set up Illustrator design boards for Handbag Reviews
  • Set up line reviews with design and production

  - Hand out list of style changes and assist during tech recaps


  • Seasonal set up – add delivery, color codes, size scale in systems
  • Maintain style in RLM

  - Create styles in RLM for all divisions

  - Responsible for updating line list memos of changes during edits, updating prices and colors

  - Process discontinued styles in the system after each stage

  - Enter all retails – US and international

Other Responsibilities

  • Pull weekly selling

  - Pull best sellers weekly and convey information to design team

  • Keep samples and closets organized
  • Assist during design room set up for meetings
