GIII Apparel Group is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its team based in New York City!


The Payroll Specialist will work as a team member to ensure that all payroll functions are completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position is working in a fast passed, high volume Payroll Department processing a weekly payroll for 2000+ employees Nonexempt, Exempt, Union and Nonunion. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for a variety of payroll functions including entering new hire information, updating employee information, creating and printing payroll reports, distributing paychecks, and processing other paperwork.

  • Responsible for working with other members of the payroll team, processing a weekly
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Process manual checks, and additional checks
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reviewing timecards for Exceptions and adjusting accordingly
  • Processing requests for time off, accurately and in accordance with company policy
  • Resolving employee payroll issues
  • Assist with the processing of year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
  • Completing special projects as assigned


  • Minimum 1 years’ experience processing payroll 1,000+ Employees
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Must be accurate, attentive to detail and well organized
