Bass, among others, seeks a Senior Dress Designer to join its team based in New York City!


    The Senior Dress Designer must have experience designing dresses with a focus on Day, Career, and Day into Evening Silhouettes, as it relates to the brand's aesthetic.


    • Initiate Color & Concept Development for each season
      • Research in current fashion & culture.
      • Create mood / inspiration board.
      • Ability to conceive, design and merchandise line as a color coordinated cohesive collection, based on various delivery periods.
      • Understanding the Trends as it relates to the specific customer base.
    • Assist in fabric development in dresses each season
      • Strong ability to research fabrications, work with print studios and converters with ability to understand layout of print and garment design.
    • Ability to execute tech-pack of garment for oversea manufacturer
      • Input both design & technical detail of each garment.
      • Attend sales review, Costing review, Supply & Demand review to reflect retail reaction to design process to achieve higher margin & sale goal.
    • Constantly research be up to date with foremost fashion, trend and culture.
      • Market research: Contemporary & luxury brand boutiques & department store, online retailers.
      • Ability to interface with Buyers when necessary in the showroom.
      • Conceiving programmed items from Design to fruition when asked.


    • Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Fashion Design.
    • 5-8 years of industry experience in dress market.
