    GIII Apparel Group is currently seeking a Fabric Assistant to join it's New York City based team!

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in pulling standards and prep daily work for senior color/fabric coordinators
    • Help review s/ydg at development stage to make adjustments to color and qlty for production
    • Receive/sort/organize all incoming packages from suppliers, vendors and QC offices overseas
    • Maintain sourcing, development and production excel charts
    • Prepare all source fabric swatches and garments ready to review with the team
    • Assist fabric coordinators to sort and organize fabric sourcing library bins each season.
    • Request and file fabric detail sheets in the company drives
    • Daily communication with overseas vendors on fabric quality, lab dip, hand-loom and strike-off comments from the team.
    • Organize and maintain bulk library on a daily basis
    • Regular touch base communications with color, fabric, production and design team.

    Qualifications

    • Clear understanding of general color and fabric development process
    • Strong presentation and problem solving skills
    • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the textile/fashion industry
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in design or related field preferred
    • Effective organization skills with very high attention to detail
    • Ability to multitask and be highly effective under pressure in a fast paced environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Works well both individually and in a team environment
    • Computer literate in Microsoft office, word, excel programs and/or fashion base computer applications.
